Living With Diabetes: How Stressed Are You?

Screening tests, such as this one, are not intended to provide a diagnosis. But they may help identify symptoms of stress that relate to your diabetes management and determine whether a further evaluation by a medical or mental health professional is necessary. As with any other illness, you should see your doctor if you think you might have serious symptoms of stress, anxiety, or depression.

Listed below are 17 potential problem areas that people with diabetes may experience. For each item, click on the response that best describes how much this has bothered you DURING THE PAST MONTH. Please note that we are asking you to indicate the degree to which each item may be bothering you, not merely how true the item may be for you. For example, if you feel that you are not sticking closely enough to a good meal plan (item #12), but you don't feel bothered or stressed about this, you would click on "not at all". If you feel very bothered or stressed about this, you would click on "a great deal".
